Over the years, I have been on the Pasadena Rotary Club Board, co-Chair for International Projects, District 5300 Peace Conference Committee, Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee and the Tyros Committee. My appreciation for the tremendous impact that Rotary has on a local, national and global level has increased over the years. All I can say is ROTARY ROCKS!!

We had our annual board meeting today at the Pasadena Senior Center. Every year, more than 10,000 older adults age 50+ from a variety of backgrounds, with differing needs, abilities and interests come to PSC for a sense of community and so much more. Our dynamic programming also includes a full range of free social service programs for older adults who face chronic health issues, poor nutrition, social isolation, income insecurity, lack of access to transportation and more. Please click on their website link below for more information including the classes they offer daily. Earlier in the day, they had a Chinese New Year celebration.

Enjoyed the Caltech Y Friends dinner this evening at the Athenaeum which included Dr. Spiros Michalakis' presentation - Being Number One. After attending the top high school in Greece, graduating from one of the top universities in the world, solving one of the hardest problems in science and moving to Caltech as a postdoc, Spiros had a crisis of faith. He lost faith in himself. What built him back up was not the pursuit of a Nobel Prize. It was outreach to kids in East LA.
